lucialutece: Your Cecil tatoos are just amazing!! I was wondering if you could make a tutorial of them? Or like a sketch showing what they are, because Id like to use them for my Cecil cosplay, if thats all right with you?

(I’m making this public since I’ve had a few people ask similar things about my tats/my tunic/headphones/basically all of my costumes xD)

There is a lot of tutorials on how to make arm socks around from the homestuck fandom and I believe there was a weeping angels one also, you can literally google it so there’s that. I basically just sewed fingerless gloves out of sheer pantihose (as per tutorial) and painted everything I wanted on with a 50/50 mix of acrylic and fabric medium (buy at joanns or craft store). And then I have to fill in the details on my fingers every time with makeup but it BEATS DOING THE WHOLE THING SO WHATEVER.

A lot of the costume decisions I make for things that are completely up to me come from my own interests and experiences. They’re really personal to me. My flower crown had special things in it like real feathers from Zippy’s bird (she molted, it was ethical), bones from a previous costume so it’s nostalgic, and a hand made nightvale eye. All my nightvale stuff has a lot of hidden symbols and imagery that are sort of hard to catch but then there are really obvious ones like the angel banishing sigil on my wrist (theres an anti possession one also but it’s hidden by my watch so thats moot). But yeah nothing on me is just thrown on there. I’m a costume designer so each little thing is a conscious decision, right down to my shoes and socks.

I’m glad you like my tats but I’d rather you not just copy them 100%. I did a lot of research and picked from a bunch of different designs I liked, as well as using a lot of fandom symbols that were important to me for various reasons. So if you like what I did perhaps you should do your own touch and use fandoms you like, since maybe you aren’t into silent hill or yugioh etc etc. Theres also a lot of personal stuff, like I used a lot of hebrew since I’m jewish and that’s a big part of my life.

I’m definitely not sketching them out because it took me 2 days to paint all that on and it was a nightmare. So if you really want to copy me I guess I can’t stop you even if it would make me sort of sad but good luck figuring it out just from pictures if you go that way xD My best recommendation really would be to do your own thing. I’m flattered you like the concept so I really think you should build on that and make it personal to you.

You are unique and there is only one you. You’ll be the only Cecil like you and I really think it’s neat to see all the different designs so you should definitely show me when you finish. I’d love to see and even compare notes. Even though I wasn’t really that helpful besides the first paragraph, maybe seeing where my inspiration comes from will help you to draw your own inspiration out.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask but I think I’m not good at answering stuff like this so I dunno. I just don’t want to be discouraging so yeah good luck!

And I remembered that I am not from Nightvale. I remembered that as far as the laws of the universe are concerned it is not where I belong.

I’ll be fine. I’m a scientist, Cecil. A scientist is usually fine.

I’m turning 22 on saturday and I’m eating ritz crackers and ranch dressing for dinner at midnight. Will I become a responsible adult on saturday or is this a forever issue…

Asked my mom who doesn’t go on the computer to name two websites and she replied with “Youtube and Grindr.” I.

for fem!lucifer, i’m debating between two different wigs;

the Dany, by Arda Wigs

(either in dark ash blonde, or desert brown [the color of my normal lucifer wig])

or this 18”-28” Long Curly Wavy Mixed wig from Wig Is Fashion

(in mixed ash blonde!)

they’re both heat resistant lace…

[Reblogging because long reply]

I always say I like Arda a lot for styles that you don’t do anything to because they sit well, HOWEVER I’ve noticed that curly wigs have a tendency to get weirdly matted or frizzed if you comb them too much because of the chemicals used to keep the hair curly. (you can basically solve this by washing it and recurling it yourself but that’s work that I wouldn’t do so I’m not going to tell anyone else to either)

On the other hand I know nothing about WIF but i like that there isn’t a part, versus arda where if you wanted to achieve that you’d have to style it a little with the hair drier (you can change the parts of some of their wigs with heat, I’m not sure if you can with that one)

If you’re worried about looking unnatural, I might shy away from arda a little tbh. I wear some of their longer wigs regularly and the curly ones always sort of give it away. And if you’re worried about length only for the WIF one, I’d probably just go with that.

In conclusion nothing really against Arda at all, I love them and their customer service to death, but I’d personally pick the WIF one if you’re sure that they’re reliable from the reviews you’ve read. I’m always iffy about buying from new sellers but they seem to have their stuff together and think it’s worth a shot.

Hope that helps, feel free to ignore every advice :Db
